It’s a Costume Brew at Our HQ

Once upon a time, the ancient Celts celebrated Halloween with bonfires and costumes during a festival for the dead called Samhain (pronounced “sow-in”). As the seasons changed into a cold, dark winter, the Celts believed that the veil between life and death wore thin, opening a gateway for ghosts of the past to return to earth and create turmoil among the living. Spooky right?

The holiday eventually evolved into what ancient Romans referred to as All-Hallows Eve, and later into what we call it today—Halloween. Halloween is now celebrated in countries all over the world and has become associated with traditions like trick-or-treating, scare pranks, ghost stories, and – our personal favorite – costume parties.

No tricks, just really awesome costumes!

Dressing up for Halloween at Kodiak Cakes is not something we take lightly. To kick off this year’s party, we’ve decided to share some of our favorite office costumes with you in preparation for a big night in Spook Town. Who knows? You might even find some last-minute costume inspiration!
