Looking Back On 2018
It’s easy to look forward to what’s next and decide on your resolutions with each New Year. But before we get ahead of ourselves, we are reminiscing the adventures we’ve had at Kodiak Cakes in 2018. This past year has given us things to learn from and even more to celebrate! We love coming to work every day and here are a few reasons why.
We love to see the creative recipes our fans come up with using Kodiak Cakes. Some of our favorites are the flapjack creations we get to indulge in every day by looking at all of your amazing posts on social media. In fact, some creations even act as inspiration for our bi-monthly office Flapjack Friday! Here are some highlights from this year.
We consider ourselves very lucky at Kodiak Cakes because we get to work with some of our closest friends. This year our adventures took us to mountains, rivers, beaches, and everything in-between. From field events, company retreats, holiday celebrations, and road trips, we’ve had a busy and fulfilling year! We also do what we can to give back each year because we wouldn’t be where we are today without a close-knit community and incredible customers. Here’s a glimpse of what our Kodiak Culture is all about. You can also read about 2018’s Kodiak Cares efforts here.
If there’s one thing that pulls at our heart strings, it’s Kodiak Cubs who love their pancakes. We love to lose ourselves in the threads of emails and social media tags of kids and puppies enjoying their flapjacks and waffles. We receive too many to choose favorites, but here are a few stand outs from 2018. Warning: cuteness overload alert!
Kodiak Bear Moments
One of the greatest mysteries of Kodiak Cakes is who is behind the bear suit. Well, we can’t tell you that, but we can tell you that some of our beary favorite moments of 2018 came from our Kodiak Cakes Bear. This year, our bear danced onto your Instagram feed, ice-skated into your inbox, and – if you were lucky – bought your holiday groceries. In the office, the Kodiak Bear is usually pre-occupied with what prank to play next. We can’t wait to see what the bear will do in 2019!
All New Kodiak Cakes
In 2018, Kodiak Cakes launched twenty-one new products and ventured into some exciting new categories like toaster waffles and flapjacks! Outside of the frozen aisle, other items included new flapjack and waffle mixes, muffin mixes, brownie cups, oatmeal, and more. We’ve come a long way and couldn’t be more excited for what’s in store for next year!
Kodiak Love Letters
Out of all the great things we have to look forward to about coming to work every day, hearing from our consumers is our favorite. In fact, letters from our early customers are what kept our CEO, Joel Clark, from throwing in the towel before Kodiak Cakes became popular. Getting Kodiak Cakes off the ground wasn’t easy, and Joel tells us all the time that we wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for our fans. So, as we reminisce over 2018, we can’t help but thank all of our consumers who shared their love for Kodiak Cakes with us via email, letters, and social media. Thanks for giving us a shot and trying our products once, a second time, and every other time after that!
Cheers to a New Year
We love to think about where we’ve been, where we are, and where we’re going. We have exciting plans for 2019 and look forward to all the fun next year will bring. Follow our adventures on Instagram at @kodiakcakes. Here’s to another trip around the sun—now, let the New Year’s Eve festivities commence!
