Three date ideas to make your Valentine feel extra special this year
If you’re anything like us, every year you have good intentions to make Valentine’s Day extra memorable. Before you know it, though, the big day is right around the corner and you’re stuck making last-minute dinner reservations. Well, this year is different because we’re here to help you make this year extra special with three date and recipe ideas that will make this Valentine’s Day one to remember.
Breakfast in Bed & Couples Yoga
You don’t have to wait until sundown to show your special someone how much you care about them. In fact, you can get started before they’re even awake by surprising them with breakfast in bed. Nothing says true love like a stack of heart-shaped flapjackstopped with cream cheese icing, sprinkles, and fresh berries—especially if those flapjacks are made with Kodiak Cakes.
Once you’ve had some time to enjoy the morning, we recommend following breakfast up with a couple’s yoga class. Not only is couple’s yoga a great workout, but it’s also a great way to build trust and improve communication with your significant other. Couple’s yoga classes are popular on Valentine’s Day, so you’ll want to make sure there’s a class and space available at your local studio. If classes are full or you are unable find one nearby, you can always give partner yoga a go at home with this beginner-friendly sequence—no mat required!
Horse-Drawn Carriage Ride & A Brownie Dessert
There’s a reason all of your favorite romantic comedies have a carriage scene—there’s just something romantic about riding in a horse-drawn carriage! You may choose to take a ride on your way to dinner at your favorite restaurant or cozy up for a ride after a romantic candle-lit dinner at home; either way, a horse-drawn carriage ride is a great way to make your dinner date all the more memorable. To spice (or sweeten) things up, we recommend making this Chocolate Covered Strawberry Brownie Cup Recipe beforehand to enjoy during your carriage ride or afterwards for the perfect finish to a romantic evening.
Ice-Skating & Fondue for Two
If you’re looking for a new activity to try as a couple this Valentine’s Day, or just need an excuse to impress that special someone with your skating skills, you can’t go wrong with an evening at the ice rink. Skating is a great way to celebrate Valentine’s, and it’s one of the few activities that you can do while holding hands (hint, hint), making it the perfect date idea if you’re looking to break the ice in a new relationship.
After a chilly evening on the ice, heat things up with our recipe for Chocolate Fondue and Vanilla Cake. This recipe can be made as a couple and is a great way to cap off the evening. We suggest you pre-make the cake using Kodiak Cakes All-Purpose Baking Mix, so all you have to do is combine the chocolate, milk, and whipping cream in a saucepan after your date. When your chocolatey concoction is melted and ready to serve, transfer your chocolate sauce into a fondue pot to keep it warm and start dipping!
There is no shortage of ways to make Valentine’s Day special. The important thing to remember is that you don’t have to break the bank to show your significant other how much you love them. Regardless of how you choose to celebrate the holiday, we hope you make it memorable and let everyone else you love know how much you care—and don’t forget to show us some love by tagging us in your Love Day posts using #kodiakcakes!
