SIMPLE HOLIDAY INGREDIENT SUBSTITUTIONS

Ingredient substitutions are a great way to make a meal lighter or more nutritious without sacrificing flavor. Kodiak Cakes products can be substituted in almost any recipe in some way to help increase a recipes protein and fiber! Simply swapping all-purpose flour with Kodiak Cakes Flapjack and Waffle Mix increases fiber by 3 grams and protein by 8 grams. Or, as you see in the recipe below, Kodiak Cakes Bear Bites make a great substation for traditional graham crackers in many recipes to add 100% whole grains and more protein to your dish. Old Fashioned Banana Pudding

Ingredients

  • 2 cups vanilla lactose-free milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup stevia
  • 2 tablespoons corn starch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 medium bananas, peeled
  • 20-30 pieces Kodiak Cakes Bear Bites Honey Frontier Graham Crackers

Directions

  1. Whisk milk, eggs, stevia, cornstarch and salt together in a medium stainless-steel bowl. Place 2 inches of water in a 2-quart saucepan. Bring to a boil over Medium-High heat. Reduce heat to Medium-Low and place bowl with milk mixture over pot of simmering water. Whisk constantly and cook mixture 8 to 10 minutes or until thickened.
  2. Remove from heat.
  3. Slice bananas and line bottom of a casserole dish. Line Kodiak Cake Bear Bites into single layer along bottom of dish. Carefully add hot pudding on top.
  4. Let cool and serve. Garnish with crumbled Kodiak Cake Bear Bites.
