Apple Cranberry Crumble

Apples and cranberries have been a seasonal staple for frontier folks both old and new, so we’ve put them together to make this holiday Apple Cranberry Crumble. This recipe combines the sweet taste of Granny Smith Apples with the tart bite of fresh or frozen cranberries. Crumbles have been a simple alternative to traditional pies for generations and were a favorite among those on the trail looking to swap out a crust for a crunchy, crispy, topping instead. We suggest serving warm with a scoop of your favorite vanilla ice cream or dollop of whipped cream to really bring this dish together.
