Turns out it does if you make it from freshly ground whole grains and add protein to the mix, which is exactly what we did with our Homestead Style Cornbread Mix. Our frontier-inspired recipe uses 100% whole-grain wheat flour and 100% whole-grain corn meal and bakes up with a hearty texture and slightly sweet flavor. Cook some in a skillet when you’re camping or bake a loaf as a side dish to complement your next backyard barbecue or family dinner.
