This breakfast is made better when served with savory butter, sweet jam, or even a heaping serving of sausage and gravy — you’ll want more than just one. With help from Kodiak® Buttermilk Power Cakes®, this breakfast comes together in just a few simple steps to satisfy your craving for homemade biscuits!

  • 2 cups Kodiak Buttermilk Power Cakes Flapjack & Waffle Mix
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold
  • 1 egg
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F
  2. In a large bowl, stir Kodiak mix, sugar, and baking powder together
  3. Cut the cold butter into cubes and work into the flour by hand until crumbly
  4. Stir in egg and milk until a dough forms
  5. Empty the dough onto a floured surface and roll 1/2" thick
  6. Use a biscuit cutter or drinking glass to cut biscuits from the rolled dough. Place cut biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden
  8. Remove from the oven and brush with melted butter
