Recipe provided by Grandma Jones
Ingredients
- 3 cups Kodiak Buttermilk Power Cakes Flapjack & Waffle Mix
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- Red pepper flakes, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons dry mustard powder
- 2 eggs, slightly beaten
- 16 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, freshly grated
- 1-1/2 lbs of ground turkey sausage (can substitute with pork or chicken sausage)
Directions
- Preheat your oven to 350° F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the Kodiak mix and spices (garlic, red pepper flakes, black pepper, salt and mustard powder).
- Add the eggs, cheddar, and ground sausage and throughly mix together with your hands or a spatula. The mixture should be slightly sticky but firm enough to roll into balls.
- Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheets about 1-inch apart (about 40-45 sausage balls total).
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the sausage balls are golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F for pork or chicken sausage).
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
