kodiakcakes.com/blogs/recipes/smash-burger-tacos
Somewhere along the way, burgers and tacos stopped competing and started collaborating to create this Smash Burger Tacos recipe. Crispy smash burger beef, sharp cheddar, pickles, lettuce, and a tangy burger sauce are folded into a Kodiak protein flatbread to bring you a whopping 40g of protein per serving. The result is everything you want from a drive-thru burger, just a little more satisfying and a whole lotta wild flavor.

Ingredients
- 6 Kodiak Protein Flatbread rounds, rolled very thin
- 1-1/2 pounds ground beef
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 6 slices sharp cheddar cheese
- 2 cups shredded iceberg lettuce
- 3/4 cup sliced dill pickles
Burger Sauce:
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
- 2 tablespoons dill pickle relish
- 1 teaspoon hot sauce (optional)
Directions
- Prepare the burger sauce by whisking together the mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, relish, and hot sauce in a small bowl. Refrigerate until ready to use.
- Divide the ground beef into 6 equal portions and roll into balls. Place one beef ball in the center of each cooked flatbread round. Press the beef into a thin, even layer that reaches nearly to the edges of the flatbread. Season with the salt and pepper.
- Heat a large griddle or cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.
- Place the flatbreads beef-side down onto the hot griddle. Place a ramekin, burger press, or small heavy bowl on top of each flatbread to maintain firm contact with the cooking surface.
- Cook for 3-4 minutes, or until the beef develops a deep brown crust around the edges and is cooked through.
- Flip each taco so the flatbread side is now against the griddle. Top the beef with a slice of cheddar cheese and cook for 30 seconds to 1 minute, until the flatbread is lightly toasted and the cheese has melted.
- Remove from the griddle. Top with shredded lettuce, dill pickles, and burger sauce.
- Fold in half like a taco and serve immediately.
