Dark Chocolate Cherry Granola Bars

Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 cups Kodiak Classic Rolled Oats Canister
  • 1/3 cup dried cherries 
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 
  • 1/3 cup honey 
  • Dark chocolate chips
  • 8 Kodiak Chocolate Chip Crunchy Bars (4 packages)

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350° Fahrenheit. Line a baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Place the oatmeal and dried cherries in a mixing bowl.
  3. Heat the butter, vanilla, and honey in a saucepan until the butter melts. Whisk together.
  4. Pour the honey mixture into the bowl of oats and stir until thoroughly combined.
  5. Spoon the oat mixture onto the lined baking pan. Grease your hands with oil and press the mixture into a rectangle shape, about 8 x 4“.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes.
  7. Remove the granola rectangle from the oven and sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the top. Place it back in the oven for 30 seconds.
  8. Remove from the oven and use a spatula to spread the melted chocolate chips evenly over the granola rectangle.
  9. Place the crunchy bars across the top of the rectangle in two rows of four. Let the rectangle cool completely, then use a sharp knife to cut slices around each individual crunchy bar.
  10. Store in an airtight container.
