Karissa Schweizer is running in hot as our first official Kodiak Athlete. A Midwesterner through and through, Karissa hails from Urbandale, Iowa. Some say she was destined for running, as both her parents and grandpa competed in that field. She tried her hand in other sports including basketball and soccer, but eventually chose to run competitively for University of Missouri.
Karissa leads the pack in her frontier, as she’s the current American record-holder in the 3,000-meter event. Karissa is currently setting her dream on fire by heading to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games to race for Team USA in the 5000M and 10,000M. You'll be able to spot Karissa out on the track, just look for her famous "race day braid". Follow her as she continues her professional running journey.
