These orange buttermilk pancakes put a bright spin on a traditional frontier flapjack. This recipe calls for Florida and Blood Oranges, but you can use any variety you prefer or whatever is in season. The fresher the better, that's the secret to this combination. Add the tart citrus slices to a stack of sweet, warm, buttery pancakes or waffles and enjoy.


  • 1 cup Kodiak Cakes Buttermilk Power Cakes Flapjack and Waffle mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 orange, peeled and sliced
  • 1 blood orange, peeled and sliced
  • Maple syrup or honey for topping


  1. Stir Kodiak Cakes Buttermilk Powercakes mix and water together until combined
  2. Pour 1/4 cup batter onto a heated and greased pan or griddle. Cook on medium-high heat until bubbles form. Flip and continue to cook until golden brown
  3. Top flapjacks with orange, blood orange slices, and maple syrup or honey
