This Monte Cristo Waffle Sandwich will raise the bar at the breakfast table without adding even a pinch of stress to your breakfast plans. With just a handful of ingredients and even fewer steps, our Kodiak spin on this French favorite will have you reaching for seconds. And thanks to Kodiak® Power Waffles, you can count on the addition of whole grains and a boost of protein in every bite — without sacrificing taste, of course! For best results, we suggest toasting your waffles to be extra crispy (but not burnt) and using fresh jam or jelly.


  • 2 Kodiak Buttermilk & Vanilla Power Waffles
  • 1 tablespoon fresh raspberry or strawberry jam
  • 1 teaspoon dijon mustard
  • 3-4 slices of ham
  • 1 slice Swiss cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 tablespoon butter
  • powdered sugar for dusting


  1. Toast waffles on the lowest setting until hot and crispy throughout.
  2. Assemble sandwiches with raspberry jam, dijon mustard, ham slices, and Swiss cheese.
  3. Melt butter in a small skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Whisk the egg and milk together and carefully dip the sandwich into the mixture.
  5. Place the sandwich on the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes on each side or until slightly browned.
  6. Dust the top of the sandwich with powdered sugar.
