Tis the season for apples and oats, so we’re baking them together in this oh so sweet Stewed Apple Bakes Oats recipe. We’re not sure if it’s the apples, the maple, cinnamon, or vanilla that really make this recipe pop, but the flavor in this dish is both sweet and savory, and each warm bowl makes the perfect start to a crisp autumn morning. So now the only question is, does it get any better than that?

Baked Oats:

  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup Kodiak Classic Rolled Oats Canister
  • 1/4 cup milk of choice
  • 2 tablespoons apple sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
  • Dash of cinnamon

Stewed Apples:

  • 1 small apple
  • 1/2 teaspoon coconut oil
  • 1/2 tablespoon maple syrup

  1. Preheat oven to 350° F.
  2. In a high speed blender, blend together all ingredients for the oats mixture.
  3. Pour into a small, greased baking dish and bake for 8-15 minutes.
  4. While oats are baking, cut 1 small apple into long slices. Sauté over medium heat with coconut oil and maple syrup for 5-10 minutes.
  5. When oats are baked to preferred consistency, remove from oven and topped with sautèed apples. Optionally, top the oats with butter, toasted nuts, and a drizzle of honey. Enjoy!
