Ingredients

Waffles:
  • 2 cups Kodiak Cakes Buttermilk Power Cakes Flapjack and Waffle mix
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoon oil
Royal Icing:
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoon meringue powder
  • 6-10 tablespoon water
  • Variety of Christmas candies

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, stir the Kodiak Cakes Buttermilk Powercakes Flapjack and Waffle mix, water, and oil together until the batter is combined
  2. Pour 1/2 cup of the batter into a greased and heated square waffle iron
  3. Cook until the waffles are crispy on the outside
  4. Cut the waffles into 4 squares and set aside in a single layer (do not stack the waffles)
  5. Use an electric mixer with a whisk attachment to mix the powdered sugar, meringue powder, and 6 tbsp. of water together until smooth. The icing should be thick enough to pipe. Add more water 1 tbsp. at a time if needed to reach the correct consistency. Cover the icing with plastic wrap when not using to keep it from drying
  6. Place the icing in a piping bag and use it to carefully glue the house together
  7. Decorate with various Christmas candies
*Tips: - If the waffles don’t get very crispy in the waffle iron, bake them in an oven set to 300° F for 5-10 minutes - Place a small glass in the center of the house when gluing together to keep it from falling
